Homes for the Homeless(H4H) and The LIME Foundation (LIME) are dedicated to empowering individuals by offering comprehensive vocational training in the construction trades, creating career opportunities, building affordable housing, and supporting homeownership.
Participants of the Nextgen Trades Academy undergo rigorous training in various aspects of construction, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the industry, safety training along with additional workshops such as financial literacy, real estate, stress management, health and wellness and resume, and cover letter writing.
Through our training program, we aim to contribute to the construction of Vessel housing, affordable housing units built with energy-efficient materials and designed to withstand category 5 hurricane winds and are fire-rated. NESSEL is approved as a single-family dwelling or an accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
Our goal for expansion is to start in Lake, Mendocino, and Sonoma Counties, building 10 NESSEL units per month. Our program aims to scale up production, eventually expanding across California and the United States, thereby creating more affordable housing options and job opportunities.
Our training program adheres to national standards and regulations, ensuring that participants receive quality education and certification recognized by industry stakeholders such as 10-hour OSHA Safety Certifications and the NESSEL housing is in the process of approved by NTA (National Testing Agency).
By providing vocational training and fostering employment opportunities within the construction sector, our aim is to uplift communities, stimulate equitable economic growth, and lead the creation of affordable housing solutions for our underserved communities.
The E3 is portable, durable and a rapidly deployable housing solution. Ideal for disaster zones, refugee camps, and transitional shelters, it brings stability to those in need.
